Caesarea / Megiddo / Haifa / Acre
Following a delicious Israeli buffet breakfast, depart Tel Aviv and drive along the coastal plain to Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. Visit the excavations of the ancient city, the Roman theatre and aqueduct. Continue to Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon; visit the archeological excavations including the well-preserved water supply system. Drive to Haifa for a panoramic view of the Bahai Gardens and Haifa bay. From Haifa, drive to Acre to visit the ancient city and harbor. Continue to Galilee for dinner & overnight.
Tiberias / Capernaum / Banias
After a short tour of Tiberias, enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee; Visit Yigal Alon museum where the “Yeshua boat”, an ancient fishing boat from the 1st century, is displayed. Continue to Capernaum; visit the remains of the 2nd century synagogue. Proceed to Tabgha, the site of the miracle of fish and loaves, and visit the Church of Multiplication with its 4th century mosaic floor. Continue to Mount of Beatitudes, the place where Yeshua delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Drive to the Banias springs and waterfalls and tour the Golan Heights.
Return to Galilee for dinner & overnight
Nazareth / Beit Shean
Drive to Nazareth via Cana of Galilee. Visit the Church of Annunciation, St. Joseph’s workshop and Mary’s well. Drive to Yardenit, the baptismal site on the Jordan River; continue to Beit Shean, a newly excavated city, and visit the Roman theatre. Drive along the Jordan River to Jerusalem.Dinner & overnight in Jerusalem.
Jerusalem (Old City)
Today we visit the Old City of Jerusalem. Our appreciation of this Golden City begins with drive to Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city; visit the Church of All Nations, King David’s tomb and the room of the Last Supper on Mount Zion. Enter within the walls of the Old City and visit the Cardo, Temple Mount (entrance to the mosques not included), Western Wall, walk along the Via Dolorosa where Yeshua carried his cross, visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, walk through the colourful Arab Bazaar and Visit the Garden Tomb. Dinner & overnight in Jerusalem.
Jerusalem (New City) / Bethlehem*
Today’s program is dedicated to the New City of Jerusalem. Drive to Ein Kerem to visit the Church of Visitation; proceed to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the victims of the holocaust; visit the Israel museum, shrine of the book, where the Dead Sea scrolls are housed and the miniature model of Jerusalem as it was during the second temple period. Proceed to Bethlehem (visit subject to the security conditions) to visit the Church of Nativity. Dinner & overnight in Jerusalem.
Dead Sea / Masada
Drive to Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. Visit the ancient city of Qumran and drive along the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth to Massada, the last stronghold of the Jews after the destruction of the second temple in 70 A.D. Ascend Massada by cable car and visit the food storeroom, water irrigation system and Herod’s palace. Descend by cable car. Time and weather permitting, an opportunity will be provided to float on the Dead Sea. Return to Jerusalem for dinner & overnight.
Sheikh Hussein Bridge / Jerash / Amman
Drive from Jerusalem to the Sheikh Hussein border crossing for procedures to enter Jordan. Proceed to Jerash - city of the Decapolis, located about 45km north of Amman in the fertile heights of the Gilad. Visit the ancient Roman city with colonnaded streets, the baths and the hill of the top Temple etc. Drive to Amman for a panoramic city tour of the Jordanian capital.
Overnight in Amman
Amman / Petra
After early breakfast, leave the hotel and travel south on the road to Wadi Musa, the modern village of Petra. Ride on horseback to the "Siq" (canyon) and then on foot to the Red Rose City of Petra, known as "Sela Edom", the ancient capital of the Nabateans from 3rd century B.C. to 2nd Century A.D. Visit the most interesting monuments such as the Treasury, El Khazneh (a tomb of a Nabatean king) then the field of tombs, obelisks, the altar, (Al Madhbah) - from this point you can view the whole of the rock city, then back to Wadi Musa village. Overnight in Petra
Madaba / Mount Nebo / Tel Aviv
Drive to Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land and ruins of historical sites. Continue about 10kms to Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. From there you will see the Jordan Valley, Jericho and the Dead Sea etc. Visit the remains of the Byzantine church with a mosaic floor. Drive to the border and onwards to Tel Aviv.
